Tuesday Tip: The Pits

I'm giving a shout out to my friend Lane who taught me this trick at book club last week.  To keep the avocados in your homemade guacamole from going brown, leave the pit in.  I'll have to take her word for it though because we scarfed it down so quickly that there was no way it had time to brown...

Also, Lane had a molcajete (the name of that bowl in the picture above) which we got as a wedding gift from our friends Rick and Tracy.  GREAT gift.  It makes fixing guacamole and serving it all the more fun!

  1. yep, and even if you dont finish all the guacamole, you can throw the pit in the bowl of what you have left, and it keeps it from turning brown :)
