Another Gender Neutral Nursery

It is cold and starting to snow here today.  I'm cozied up at home on the couch with two snoring pups and so I decided to work on a little mood board.  The last gender neutral nursery I did for my friend Lane has been pretty popular on Pinterest so I decided to try out another...whaddya think?

I like the simplicity of the pieces and you could really jazz it up with fabrics for pillows, crib sheets, drapes, etc. when you did find out the sex of the baby.

A Girly Glam Living Room Mood Board

After admiring designer Liz Caan's work, I decided I definitely need a little more girly glam in my life!  I designed this mood board for a fun, feminine living room.  I'm not sure my husband would approve but I'd certainly enjoy this space!

Sweet Dreams

Haven't been feeling super creative lately but decided to try my hand at a mood board to see if I could get the juices flowing.  It is interesting that what I finished with is nothing like what my initial vision was.  Anyway, here is a gold inspired bedroom for this Sunday.  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Store Mood Board

My friend is interested in applying for a business management course.  As part of her portfolio she has to present an idea for her store inspiration and she asked me to help.

She plans to have a gift store that is incorporated with a boutique hotel.  She wanted the store to be fairly upscale but welcoming and not intimidating.  She will sell gifts and stationary, soaps, candles, etc.  I decided to keep most of the colors neutral and then to accent with colors in the things she sells - like pillows.  In order to make the space seem welcoming and warm, I used wood tones and also used furniture pieces instead of traditional store shelving, etc.  .

Here's what I came up with:

It feels homey to me and like somewhere I'd want to stay a while and shop.

A Beach Chic Room

Happy belated Fourth of July!  I hope everyone had a great holiday.  We spent the week in Topsail Island, NC with my family and had a nice, relaxing time.

Being at the beach just kept me thinking the entire time of how I'd like to decorate a beach house that I hope to have one day (waaaaay down the road).

So, I did a little mood board that I call Beach Chic from my inspiration this week.  Don't you want to come visit?

Sabrina's Sophisticated Nursery

This mood board is inspired by Sabrina's need for a sophisticated, gender neutral nursery.  She already owns a few of the pieces - the couch (from Room and Board), the dresser (from Restoration Hardware Baby) and the crib (from Oeuf).

She wanted something sophisticated and fairly neutral that could be converted into a guest room at a later date.  I think her biggest concern was the rug.  She wanted neutral without having something white or cream that would get dirty fast.  Ya'll know how I feel about animal print being a neutral...I've actually owned this rug before and liked it a lot (you definitely want to get a cushy pad for it).  The grasscloth wallpaper adds texture while still keeping the neutral palette for some muted but patterned and textural fabrics.  I thought the green hit of zebra would be a fun pillow or two.
