Tuesday Tip: Frozen Grapes

My friend Meghann who seems to be on a roll with Tuesday tips lately taught me this idea:

Use frozen grapes to chill wine. 

Initially, she explained this idea to me while attempting to chill white wine.  It is a great idea because it cools the wine off without watering it down like ice might.  I immediately told my Grandmother who proceeded to wow all of her friends at their next party. 

The other night we tried it with red wine and it worked just as well. 

My friend Lane was over for dinner Sunday night and she suggested that her Mom used to freeze little baby mandarin orange slices as well to cool drinks.

An added bonus?  I pulled the frozen grapes out of the fridge and Lane grabbed one and took a bite.  I was a little bit horrified thinking that they would be completely solid but they actually make a perfectly sweet and chilled out snack with very little calories.  Seriously, frozen grapes beat regular grapes in my book any day.


  1. Frozen grapes = chubby girl's ice cream. They're a yummy snack when you want something cold and sweet.
