Apples and Oranges

It has been a while since I've gotten anything done on my knitted kitchen project.  I finally finished a little orange and an apple core.

Because I need one more thing to do...

I went to Charlotte this weekend for my Goddaughter's baptism.  It was a beautiful service and so fun to see my dear friends.  And while I was there, my friend Reeves taught me how to applique.  I'm sort of obsessed.  Great.  Because I was just swimming in free time as it was...

Look what she taught me to make (I know they aren't perfect but I'm still excited!):

She had a plain waffle-weave Ikea handtowel that we appliqued scrap fabric petals onto.  I love!

And then she taught me some plain old sewing.  (I've improved a little, huh, M?)

Don't worry...I haven't forgotten about my knitting.  I finished a little pear for my knitted kitchen project.

And a hat for my friend Michaela.  This one's kinda funky but I like how it turned out.

Happy Easter!!!

Breakfast time!

I finished some eggs to go with my bacon for my knitted kitchen project.  The pattern I used is from here (and it is free!) but I had to amend it slightly because it was kind of confusing...

Bringing home the bacon.

So, this is a start of a new project for me.  As I'm sure you can tell from my blog, I love my new hobby of knitting.  There are so many great things that you can make.  Since I've started knitting, I've had this idea of wanting to make a bunch of knitted foods for a child's kitchen.  It's washable and fun.  Here is my first start...bacon!  It was an easy first project but fun.
