Tuesday Tip: Freshening your garbage disposal naturally

Yesterday for Memorial Day I made a yummy, low fat key lime pie.  I had a ton of used limes leftover which reminded me of one of my favorite tips.  This trick will work with lemons, limes or any kind of citrus.  If you cut up pieces of leftover citrus fruits then you just drop them down the garbage disposal and turn it on.  The citrus will help with any smell from the garbage disposal. 

This time I had an unusually large amount of limes so instead of letting them go to waste, I'm storing them in a ziplock bag to use to freshen the disposal throughout the week.  It is amazing how clean it will make your kitchen smell!
