I'm not quite finished because I think I'm going to fill it with lavender. I gotta say....sewing is HARD. But, I thought knitting was near impossible when I started so I guess the moral of the story is practice, practice, practice. That, and according to Meghann, you can never use too many pins. (See, M, I did listen!).
Please don't judge my very first project...I was going on very little sleep from having to be at work at 6am and we also all know patience isn't my strong suit. I felt a little ADD while doing this but, I will focus more the next time!
Random tidbit not related to sewing: For those of you that don't know me, my husband and I were married earlier this year and our minister was a former Beverly Hills, 90210 television tv star turned minister. My dad called me today to remind me that today was actually 9/02/10. Ha.
I'm heading to NC to visit my grandmother this weekend and am so excited to be totally offline - no internet in those mountains! Also, we may be attending one of the world's largest flea markets so I'm hoping to have some great pics! Stay tuned and have a safe and happy Labor Day!
Oh, yay! Sewing is so fun. I'm sewing Si a shirt as we speak. There are tons of fun sewing blogs too! Here's one a my favorite (easy) projects: http://www.prudentbaby.com/2010/03/quick-pretty-makeup-bag.html. I have made like 10 of these. So fun!
ReplyDeleteYou are going to be a pro in no time! I can feel it.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget the other rule which is to read the instructions all the way through first, then start cutting. I swear to holy hell, you make that mistake once and you will never do it again.
