Tuesday Tip: Strong passwords that you can remember

My friend and co-worker, Diana, taught me this really valuable tip.  If you're anything like me, it is really confusing to remember passwords to all of the different sites that you need to access.  I try to use a really simple password that I can remember but more and more often sites are requiring that you use capitalization, special characters, letters and numbers to help make your passwords more secure.  Great idea but hard to remember.

Until now...

Think of a setence and that has a date in it and then use the first letter of each of the words in your sentence to create your password.

Let's have an example:

Let's say your daughter's name is Sarah Jones and she was born on June 3rd. So your sentence would be Sarah Jones was born on June 3rd!  But, your password would be: SJwbo0603!

It looks like a really complicated password to others but to you it is a simple sentence with a date that you'd remember anyway.  You've got your capitalization with the start of the sentence and with the proper noun, numbers from the date, and a special character with the punctuation at the end of the sentence.  Simple.

Works great for dates of birth, anniversaries, etc.

Does anyone else have any ideas for remembering passwords?
